The Jeeper of the Year award is given out in memory of our good friend Allen Tellinghuisen following his passing in 2002. The specific guidelines were laid out by another great Jeeper, Jim Davis, who came up with this Award.
Here are the qualities that make up a jeeper of the year:
- good leadership
- contribution to club
- contribution to trail runs
- over all good person
- helpful and respectful to others
- generous in their involvement with the club
- responsible on the trail
- being a decent person
- being... a good Jeeper
- an award that any member could win
- shouldn't be about knowledge of mechanics
- shouldn't be about building a mega jeep
